Monday Features

Hi everyone,
Welcome to the next installment of our Monday Features at Mapping Clarity! Today, I’m excited to walk you through Custom Targets and officially launch our new Excel script.
With Custom Targets, you have three setup options: List & Definitions, List, or Pattern. For today’s demonstration, we are using List & Definitions, which allows you to upload a custom list of codes alongside their specific definitions. (Stay tuned—I’ll be covering the other two types in upcoming Monday posts!).
How the Workflow Operates: In the video above, you’ll see me upload a custom definition into Mapping Clarity, which takes just a couple of clicks. This target is then added to a Pipeline. Pipelines are incredibly useful if you want to include multiple targets as part of a single processing job.
Once the pipeline is set up, I split my sample data into two batches:
The Training Batch: The first lot consists of samples pre-filled with the correct answers. This is sent to Mapping Clarity so the system can learn from it for future runs.
The Processing Batch: The remaining 800 rows are then processed. Mapping Clarity uses both the uploaded list of definitions and the training samples to categorize the data.
The result? The 800 rows are accurately mapped in about 40 seconds.
Creating a Transparent Feedback Loop: It is incredibly important to us that Mapping Clarity is never a "black box." When the system returns your mapped results, it also provides a confidence score and a reason. This ensures you always understand exactly why Mapping Clarity categorized the data the way it did.
If you need to make corrections, you can quickly adjust them using our new Excel script. These adjustments are then sent right back into Mapping Clarity. The system learns from your corrections for future processing, creating a seamless, highly accurate feedback loop.
Ready to try it out? You can download the new Excel script directly from our GitHub: https://github.com/Mapping-Clarity/scripts
As always, if you have any questions or want to discuss your specific data needs, please do not hesitate to reply to this email or contact me directly at hello@mappingclarity.com.
Best regards,
Andrew
